Life buoy position:
1.So distributed as to be readily available on both sides of the ship and as far as practicable on all open decks extending to the ship's side,at lest one shall be placed in the vicinity of the stern.
2.At least one life buoy on each side shall be fitted with a buoyant lifeline.
3.Not less than half of the total number of life buoys shall be provided with self-igniting lights.
4.Not less than two of the self-igniting lights shall be provided with life buoy self-activating smoke signal.
5.Life buoy with lights and smoke signals shall be equally distributed on both sides.
